Salt and Sacrifice also has a heavy emphasis on online co-op so it might be one of those games that is better with friends but I don't have anyone to play it with. Outside of that I can't even remember their attack patterns because they are so similar to each other. There are a couple of "static" bosses in each zone but even those don't really differentiate themselves apart from the rest and I can't name a single one. The only reason I can name bosses from Sacrifice is because the mages are based on elements (Fire, Ice, Poison, etc.). I can name several bosses from Sanctuary (Alchemist, Sodden Knight, Drake, Tree of Men) even though I haven't played it six years or so by now. Tedious gameplay loop of tracking and fighting bosses then farming the same ones over and over again to craft gear. If Salt and Sanctuary is 2D Dark Souls, Salt and Sacrifice tries to be 2D Monster Hunter. I ended up getting Salt and Sacrifice on PS4 recently and I probably won't be finishing it anytime soon. User reviews on Metacritic are still leaving 0 reviews for it. Most people have said it's a complete downgrade compared to the original.
